Domain Name HQ history

We started buying domain names for our own websites and those of our clients in 1996. It was easy back then. Great dot com names were available directly from the handful of registrars. We never had a problem finding a suitable brand.

Today it is completely different.

We run a website design and development business and at one time we were managing over 5,000 websites for clients all over the world. The most commonly asked questions from our thousands of clients and prospects were about domain names.

Initially we would offer to help them find a good domain name, but it became increasingly hard and time consuming. Therefore whenever we came across a good domain name we would buy it so that we had a bank of names ready for our clients to buy. Over time this bank of names grew and we made the decision to set it up as a separate company and sell the names directly to the public ... and so Domain Name HQ was born.
